6. Flight of the Conchords (2 seasons)
Two awkward musicians from New Zealand (real-life comedy duo Jermaine Clement and Brent McKenzie) try to make it big in New York City with their quirky songs and dry humor. Their everyday misadventures turn into hilarious, absurd situations and very catchy songs.  

7. Mare of Easttown (1 season)
A small-town detective (Oscar winner Kate Winslet) investigates a brutal murder while dealing with her own personal tragedies. The show combines a gripping crime story with a raw portrayal of community and grief.

8. Somebody Somewhere (2 seasons)
A woman returns to her Kansas hometown and struggles to find connection after a family loss. She discovers an unlikely community that helps her embrace her true self.

11. My So-Called Life (1 season)
This coming-of-age classic explores the life of a teenage girl as she deals with school, first love, and complicated friendships. It captures the messy emotions of adolescence with honesty and depth and is the on-screen debut of both Claire Danes and Jared Leto.

12. Pen15 (2 seasons)
Two adult comedians play their middle-school selves among real child actors. The awkward, hilarious series highlights the painfully relatable moments of adolescence of sexual discovery. Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle are the adults playing middle schoolers.

13. The Office (U.K. version) (2 seasons)
Ricky Gervais and Martin Freeman star in this cringeworthy comedy and original version of the famous U.S. show starring Steve Carell. This version is set in a mundane office in Slough, England and the show uses dry humor, awkward silences, and to reveal the everyday absurdity of work life and office relationships.

16. Glow (2 seasons)
A struggling actress joins a women’s wrestling TV show in the 1980s and finds unexpected empowerment. The series blends humor, drama, and glittery costumes with real struggles behind the scenes. Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, and Marc Maron star in this show. 

17. Maid (1 season)
A young mother (Margaret Qualley) escapes an abusive relationship and takes on housecleaning work to build a better life for her daughter. The show is a very honest look at poverty in the United States. 

18. The Queen’s Gambit (1 season)
